When Kiriko steps in to shield Shinnosuke from an attack by Chase, he finds himself unable to shoot her. It is suggested that Kiriko has a connection to Chase. Shinnosuke ultimately helps her overcome her trauma of Roidmude 010 when she faces him again after he has become the Paint Roidmude. Shinnosuke would learn Kiriko's history with the Kamen Riders since the Global Freeze and how she was saved by Protodrive. She is shown to be very athletic despite her looks and also has the habit of physically dragging Shinnosuke back to work when she finds that he is slacking off, often handcuffing him in the process. Kiriko is initially the first member of the force who actually knows that Shinnosuke is Kamen Rider Drive and as such often assists him in battles as a sidekick. She pushes herself to mold him into a worthy successor for the original Drive, explaining the heavy pressure she exerts on him. As Shinnosuke had became a slack-off detective during his time at the Unit, Kiriko kept him on his toes to keep him focused on his job. Kiriko kept a serious exterior, doing her best to not smile while working with mechanical precision.
Six months later, Kiriko transferred into the Special Investigation Unit and assigned as Shinnosuke Tomari's partner. Belt and learn more about the Drive System as well as the Roidmudes. Unfortunately, Protodrive allegedly lost his life battling the Roidmudes, which severely affected Kiriko. Although she was nearly turned into fibers of light, she was saved by Protodrive and cemented her admiration for the Kamen Rider title. Ten minutes later, the Global Freeze took effect and Kiriko was ambushed by Roidmude 010. She also passed through a policeman that she would meet months later. On April 8, 2014, Kiriko worked as a traffic signal-woman who helped evacuate the workers in the Touto building during a rainy day. Kiriko is saved by Protodrive during the Global Freeze. After their mother passed away, Kiriko continued to look after Go as her only family member left. Kiriko thus decided not to tell Go the truth about their father until he's finally grown as an adult. She guessed that her father had done something wrong to her mother, causing them to be seperated. At a young age, Kiriko asked her mother where her father was, but unintentionally caused her mother to feel sad. Kiriko Shijima was the daughter of Sumiko Shijima and the elder sister of Go Shijima.
